THANK YOU
Thanks to all the H. L. Lions members who brought food for both our potluck meals for February.

Also, thank you to PDG Lion Steve “Fuzzy” Halseth for speaking to our club at our Feb. 17th meeting.  He spoke about orientation.

MEETINGS
Our first meeting of the month will be on Thursday, March 3rd at our meeting place. This will be a dinner meeting, which will be at 7:00 P.M.  Lions Renee Lahr and Bernie Rohling will be cooking the meal that night. Our business meeting will take place after the meal.

Our second meeting will be take place on Thursday, March 17th also at our meeting place.  There will be a Board of Directors meeting at 6:30 P.M.  No one has volunteered to cook for this meeting.  If interested, please let Lion Steve know by the first meeting in March. If there is no meal, the business meeting will be at 7:00 P.M. If there is a meal, the regular business meeting will be at
7:30 P.M.

YOUTH CENTER
The Youth Center will be open this year on the first and third Saturdays of each month from 6:00 until 10:00 P.M.  Families/guests and youth ages 10 and up are invited.  Lion Cathy Rufer will be in charge again this year.

We have loaned our fryers to the Cokato Youth Center for eight weeks.

DONATIONS
Our club donated to the HLWW After Prom Committee; the JO Boys volleyball program; to Winsted and Humphrey Elementary Schools for books and keyboarding.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Our pull-tab booth at the Howard Lake Liquor Store will remain open as much as possible during the remodeling.

Our annual pancake breakfast is scheduled for Palm Sunday (March 20) at the Howard Lake Legion.  The hours will be from 8:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.  Lions Debbie McAlpine and Mike Main are the co-chairs for this event.  Any help from our membership will be much appreciated.

The annual Howard Lake Expo will take place on Saturday, March 19th.  At our next meeting, a decision will be made on whether or not we will have a booth that day.
 
 

Our annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place at Memorial Park on Saturday, March 26 beginning at 10:00 A.M.  Lion Dan Oestreich will chair the event this year.  Set-up for the egg hunt will be at 7:00 A.M. at the park.  Any member interested in helping that day, please report to the park at
7:00 A.M.

Congratulations to Lion Jeremy Kadlec who was inducted as a new member into our Lions club.  Lion Tom Fiecke is Lion Jeremy’s sponsor.  PDG Lion Darrell Main performed the induction.

NEW CLUB SHIRTS
Our club is still taking orders for our new HL Lions club shirts.  The shirts are red with white lettering.  This time, the shirts are also available in women’s style along with the men’s.  The cost of the shirts are as follows: S –XL--$16; 2XL--$18; 3XL--$21.  If you are interested in ordering one, please put your name and size on a slip of paper in an envelope along with a check for the cost of shirt to: Lion Steve Weber; P.O. Box 22; Howard Lake, MN 55349.  Please make your check payable to C & C Embroidery.

BIRTHDAYS
Happy birthday to the following Howard Lake Lion members who will be celebrating a birthday in March: Mike Main (4); Don Oestreich (10); Sam Gruenhagen (16); Denise Oberpriller (17); and Denny Frey (28).
