THANK YOU
Thanks to Lions Terry Thorson, Mike Main, Darren McAlpine, Duane Hass, Tom Sullivan, and Renee Lahr for helping put together a handicap ramp for a needy resident.

Also, thanks to PDG Larry Kounkle on his presentation on the Hearing Foundation.

MEETINGS
Our next meeting will be on Thursday, April 1st at our regular meeting place. Lion Mike Main will be our cook that night. (SOMETHING FISHY IS GOING ON THAT NIGHT – DON’T MISS IT!) The meal will be at 7:00 P.M. followed by our regular business meeting will be at 7:30 P.M.  PDG Gary Johnson will be our guest speaker at this meeting.  He will be speaking about the LCIF.

Our second meeting will be take place on Thursday, April 18th also at our meeting place.  There will be a Board of Directors meeting at 6:30 P.M. No one has volunteered to cook for this meeting.  If interested, please let Lion Steve at our next meeting so it can be put in the Herald.  If there is meal, it will be at 7:00 P.M. followed by our regular business meeting at 7:30 P.M.  If there is no meal, the business meeting will be at 7:00 P.M.

Our next zone meeting will take place on Monday, April 5th at the Montrose Community Center.  The social hour is at 6:00 P.M. with the meal at 7:00 P.M.  The meeting will follow the meal.  Nine members from our club will be in attendance.

ANNOUNCEMENTS
NOTE: IF YOU HAVE NOT BEEN TO ANY MEETINGS RECENTLY FOR ONE REASON OR ANOTHER, THIS MONTH IS A PERFECT OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU TO HELP OUT WITH THE FOLLOWING EVENTS:

Our Lions club will be holding our annual pancake breakfast on Sunday, April 4th (Palm Sunday) at the Howard Lake Legion.  The hours will be from 7:00 A.M. until noon.

Following the breakfast that afternoon, our club will be having Bingo at the Legion. The hours for this event will be from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. Help with either or both events will be very much appreciated.

On Saturday, April 10th, our Lions club will be holding our annual Easter Egg Hunt out at Memorial Park in Howard Lake.  Lion Duane Hass will once again be the chairperson for this event.  The fun starts at 10:00 A.M.  If you are able to help out in any way, please be there!
 

THANK YOU NOTES
Thank you notes were received from the Camp Friendship, Camp New Hope and the After Prom Committee for our recent donations.

NOMINATION FORM
On page four of this newsletter, there is a form for a list of nominations for the Helen Keller Award and for the Hearing Foundation Fellow.  Please follow the instructions on the bottom of the form.

CONDOLENCES
Our sympathies go out to the family of Lion Bernie Rohling on the passing of his wife and former Lion member Judy.

Also, our sympathies go out to Lions Duane Hass and Denise Oberpriller on the loss of their father Arthur Hass.  In lieu of flowers, the club made a donation to the Eye Bank in memory of Lions Duane’s and Denise’s father.

DONATIONS
Our club made a donation to the following:
(1) Queen’s Committee towards sponsoring a queen candidate for Good Neighbor Days in June. (2) To Curtis Larson, a member of the H.L. Boy Scouts. The money will be used towards the purchase of lumber for two more picnic tables that he wants to build in order to achieve the ranking of Eagle Scout.
(3) To our local Boy Scout troop towards the purchase of new equipment.
(4) To the Howard Lake Watershed Association.

Lion Duane Hass donated a wheelchair to our club. It was used by his father during his stay in the nursing home in HL.  We thank Lion Duane for his generosity.

SLATE OF OFFICERS
The slate of officers for 2004-05 was submitted to the club at our March 18th meeting.  If you would like to run for any of the offices listed below, please let your intentions at our next meeting on April 1st.
