Thank you to the following H.L. Lions who helped Lion Steve Weber (5M-7 Gram Editor) with the labeling, sorting, and bundling of the March issue of the 5M-7 Gram on March 3rd: Nancy Main, Bernie Rohling, Terry Thorson, LaNette Thorson, Vern Lemke, Mardell Lemke, Joyce Thorson, and Dennis Massey.

Thanks to Lions Cathy Rufer, Linda Amman, and Susan Grangroth on the excellent meal at our March 6th meeting.  Also, thanks to Lions Mike Main, Dan Judd, and others on the fish fry at our March 20th meeting.  Also, special thanks to Lion Hazel Oberpriller for cleaning off the tables immediately after the meal.

Thank you to Lion Catherine Stenberg for working at our booth at the HL Expo on March 15th.  A job well done!

Our club made a donation to Derek Swedberg, a senior at HLWW High School, in order to co- sponsor him (along with the Waverly Lions) at the Minnesota State High School League All-Star Basketball games to be held on April 4 & 5.

Our club also made a donation to a needy family whose house burned down recently.

Our club will be holding a pancake breakfast on Sunday, April 13 (Palm Sunday) at the Howard Lake Legion from 7:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.  Any help with this function (setup, cooking, serving, and/or cleanup) will be greatly appreciated.

The Easter Egg Hunt will take place on Saturday, April 19th at Memorial Park in Howard Lake.  The fun starts at 10:00 A.M.  Lion Duane Hass will be the chairperson.  We will be stuffing eggs (with candy) immediately following our business meeting on April 17th.  Any help with this event will be greatly appreciated.

Our Lions club will be holding the 2nd Annual Scramble 4-Player Golf Tournament on Saturday, July 12th at The Greens in Howard Lake.  A committee for this tournament was set up at our March 20th meeting.  They are as follows: Lions Steve Weber (chair), Duane Hass, Tom Fiecke, Dan Judd, Harvey Krohn, and Denny Massey.  Our first committee meeting will take place immediately following our regular business meeting on April 3rd.

Our Lions club will be holding a meat raffle every Saturday from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. at the liquor store in HL.  Lion Tim Oberpriller will be the chairperson for this fundraiser.  Lion Sam Gruenhagen advised that if the raffle is going to work, it must be done every week.  Also, thirty tickets must be sold before you can spin the wheel.  This fundraiser is a volunteer position.  If you have any free time on a Saturday afternoon, please come and help.

Our next meeting will be on Thursday, April 3rd at our regular meeting place.  Lion LaNette Thorson will be cooking and serving at this meeting.  The meal will be at 7:00 P.M. with the business meeting at 7:30 P.M.  Region Chair Lion Mike Main will be speaking to our club at this meeting.  We will also be installing two new members into our club that night.

Our second meeting will be on Thursday, April 17th at our regular meeting place.  There will be a Board of Directors meeting at 6:30 P.M.  At 7:00 P.M., there will be a meal cooked and served by Lion Darrell Main.  Following the meal, we will have our regular business meeting.  At this meeting, we will have a speaker from Camp Friendship.

The next GND meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 2nd at 7:00 P.M. at the fire hall.  Any interested members are strongly encouraged to attend.

The last zone meeting of the year will take place on Monday, April 28th at the Community Center in Montrose.  The social hour begins at 6:30 P.M. with the meal at 7:00 P.M.  The meeting will take place after that.  At this meeting, a new zone chairman will be elected.  Any members interested in attending should sign up by the April 17th meeting.  Remember that the club will pay for your meal.  However, if you sign up and do not attend, you must reimburse the club for the meal.

Our club will be voting on the following slate of officers for 2003-04 during our first meting in April.  If any H.L. Lion member wants to run for one of the offices listed below, he/she should attend that meeting in April and have his/her name put on the ballot.
